While it’s unlikely that we’d find people lining up at remaining Sharper Image stores for bargain-priced neck coolers, we wonder whether there’s more to the retailer’s demise. As if trying to live up to their promise of bigger things, a barbershop near a busy street in Manila has surfaced bearing the same name. The Sharper Image Barbershop caters to both men and women and provides the usual litany of personal grooming services from scalp massage to a foot spa. We were quite tempted to come in and see if they’d be using Sharper Image stuff for its customers, but our disappointment came too soon once we realized that the establishment was most likely an unauthorized homage to a shop that got cut out by its bigger rivals.
